Accessibility Statement

Re-Curo is committed to making this website accessible to all, and we are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

This accessibility statement applies to www.re-curo.com.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings.

  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen.

  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software.

  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Measures to support accessibility.

Re-Curo. takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of this site:

  • Integrate accessibility into our website design and maintenance practices.

  • Include people with disabilities in our website design and maintenance practices.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Re-Curo is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Technical specifications

Accessibility of this site relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML

  • WAI-ARIA

  • CSS

  • JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Compliance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Re-Curo is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard or are exempted are stated below.

Non-compliances - this means the content in question is in scope of the regulations, but there is an accessibility problem with it.

Exemption - this means the inaccessible content is out of scope of the regulations, or it would be a disproportionate burden for us to make it accessible.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility we know some parts of this website are not fully accessible and so are either non-compliant or exempted within the regulations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for the site:

  • you cannot skip to the main content when using a screen reader (for example, a ‘skip to main content’ option).

  • It is not always possible to change the device orientation from horizontal to vertical without making it more difficult to view the content.

  • there is a limit to how far you can magnify on our ‘contact’ page.

  • It is not possible for users to change text size without some of the content overlapping.

  • the text indicating the top and bottom of the page is small and cannot be adjustable.

  • There are two links on each page redirecting to the page currently viewing.

  • There are noscript element, programmatic field and fieldset legend issues in the website coding.

  • Some alternative text is similar for some images within the same project area within the online portfolio of works.

We have assessed the cost of fixing the issues above. We believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. As we are currently not a registered company and this website is currently classed as a hobby and therefore not making any profits currently, we will make another assessment when we are required to register as a business or by June 2026, which ever is the nearest date.

Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations.

  • Most older PDF or Word documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software – we will provide newer PDF or Word document versions to meet accessibility standards. We will always try to limit the use of PDF documents wherever possible.

  • live video streams do not have captions –
